Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Are you feeling powerless to create change? Or maybe you’re the parent of a child or adolescent who you just can’t seem to get through to. Have you been feeling overwhelmed and stalled with making decisions? Are you angry or hurting and want to better understand your feelings or feelings of another?  I support you. It takes a special person to hear what others cannot say. Everyone should have a safe and healing place to talk things out with someone who genuinely listens and is effective in getting their needs met, and toward greater peace of mind.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have over 10 years of experience working with adolescents, adults and families in various settings. My specialty is working with adolescents. Though I am well versed in a variety of counseling techniques. Such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Trauma Informed Approaches. I use many mindfulness-based interventions, while working to embrace the needs of all individuals. I have a compassionate, approachable, demeanor that builds rapport and faith. Clients warm up to me quickly and I enjoy helping them to reach goals and learn new behaviors. So that they can live the life they envision for themselves.

My educational background includes a bachelor’s in communication from Central Connecticut State University and a master’s degree in social work from Simmons College. I aim to assist others with depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, self-esteem, disruptive behavior, anger, ADHD, trauma, and stress. I use a combination of client centered strength-based strategies that put you at the focus of the goals you want to accomplish. I support clients to be the author of their own lives. I believe in meeting you where you are from the very beginning. I will encourage you to go at your own pace so that you can successfully become the vehicle you need to be, to navigate through life's challenges.

My therapy style encompasses humor, empathy, patience, and unconditional support. I have a nonjudgmental approach and deep understanding of the challenges that come with mental health.  My goal is to help clients reach their fullest potential. No obstacle is too large or too small and I hope to provide some relief for you.
